WHAT WE OFFER
The mission of Achēv’s Information Technology Solutions & Services (ITSS) is to function as the digital backbone for the settlement community in Ontario, allowing settlement agencies to focus on the needs of their newcomer clients. With a dedicated team of professionals, Achev offers application development and database management services for government funded language and settlement service providers in Canada. Alongside our partners, such as AWS and Microsoft, Achēv provides secure and dependable solutions to address the evolving needs of our clients, partners, and funders.
History of Assessments, Referrals and Training System (HARTs)
Achēv designed and maintains the HARTs language database management system which is the Ontario wide standard language assessment and training management system delivered on behalf of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) and the Ontario Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development (MLITSD), as well as IRCC or MLITSD funded Service Provider Organizations (SPOs) such as Language Assessment Centres and Language Training Providers (LTPs) across Ontario.
Compass to Connect
Compasstoconnect.ca is a portal that securely connects newcomers to IRCC-funded settlement services across all GTA regions. It is a single online window for newcomers to view and subscribe to over 65 services funded by IRCC from over 100 locations across the GTA. Newcomers can also look for services provided in their native language. ITSS developed the site, partner management tool and provides community engagement to service providers in Ontario.
Canadian Language Benchmarks Placement Assessment (CLBPA)
Achēv developed and maintains the CLBPA tool to meet the needs of newcomer clients interested in completing a Language Assessment but require less hands-on support. CLBPA, a hybrid assessment tool, allows newcomer clients the option of taking their English or French Language Assessment online at a participating Language Assessment Centre across Canada. It reduces the amount of time the client must spend in completing a Language Assessment, which is required to access government funded English and French language classes.
The Canadian Language Benchmarks Online Self-Assessment (CLB-OSA)
The CLB-OSA for English (clb-osa.ca) and for French (nclc-ael.ca) are online, self-assessment tools for those who are interested in assessing their English and French as second languages before taking the formal assessment through a Language Assessment Centre. It can be accessed from anywhere in the world and comes at no cost to the user. This project is funded by IRCC and MLITSD.
Newcomer Information Centre (NIC) Online
To integrate into their new community, newcomers need access to the right information and resources. Newcomer Information Centre Online (niconline.ca) provides updated information and referrals related to employment and settlement in Ontario that is accessible online 24/7 – when and where our clients need it. NIC Online is funded by the IRCC and ITSS maintains the website and the information it presents.
LINC Home Study Canada
Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada is an English language training program funded by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). LINC Home Study Canada provides free distance education for eligible newcomers who cannot attend LINC classes in person for clients throughout Canada. ITSS developed an in-house learning platform that publishes training & test content for clients and a teaching and management tool for instructors
Employment Pathways in Canada (EPIC-HC)
Employment Pathways in Canada—Health Careers (epic.Achēv.ca) is an online training and employment guidance program funded by Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC). The program supports the accreditation and employment of Internationally Educated Healthcare Professionals (IEHPs). It helps IEHPs find entry-level positions in their occupation and complete their licensure process in Canada. ITSS developed and maintains the EPIC-HC website, where clients can access accreditation, re-location, and licensure information. ITSS also maintains the database for tracking client information on internal CRM systems.
