Achēv’s Building Strong Foundations – WELD Program, delivered in partnership with the Canadian Welding Bureau (CWB) Group, is designed for youth aged 18–29 in Peel and Halton who are interested in starting a career in the skilled trades.
Program Details:
- 8 weeks of hands-on welding training delivered by the Canadian Welding Bureau (CWB) in Milton, with a weekly stipend provided
- 1 week of employability skills training (resume support, mock interviews, job readiness)
- 8-week paid job placement with an employer in the industry
- All equipment provided at no cost
Cohort 2: July 6 – September 4, 2026 (9 weeks)
- Online Micro – July 6 – 17, 2026
- COI Welding – July 20 – August 13, 2026
- Cobalt Training – August 17 – 20, 2026
- Autobody Repair – August 24 – 27, 2026
- 1 week of employability skills
- 8 weeks of on-the-job paid training – to commence after in-class training
Eligibility
- Youth between the ages of 18 and 29 years
- Youth who are unemployed, not in school and not in training
- Resident of Halton or Peel region
- Legally allowed to work in Canada (valid SIN number)
- Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident, and Convention Refugee
