About the Respect and Reconciliation with Indigenous Peoples Project
The Respect and Reconciliation training is professional development funded by MLITSD for English language instructors on the topics of Indigenous history and culture.
This learning material aims to support language instructors to include themes of Indigenous perspectives into their language training to newcomers. While the training is professional development for instructors, we have also created an instructors’ handbook with lesson plans and ready-made worksheets to guide instructors when using this content with their students.
The eLearning units are self-paced and available on Avenue.ca. Upon successful completion of the eLearning units, instructors earn a certificate that can be used towards PD hours with TESL Ontario.
