  • Regular coaching and check-ins from Achēv during the first year set you and your new employee up for success.
  • This program offers risk-free hiring of skilled newcomers and up to $10,000 if the new hire leaves or is terminated in the first six months. Conditions apply.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Does my business qualify for this hiring program?

To qualify, your business must:

  • Be licensed to operate in Ontario.
  • Comply with all applicable federal and provincial legislation.
  • Maintain appropriate WSIB or alternate workplace safety insurance coverage and have adequate third-party general liability insurance.
  • Be willing to hire and place the program participant on your payroll directly.

How does the program help employers?

Recruiting and retaining new talent takes time and money. This program offers employers a broader pool of untapped talent. As a bonus, we underwrite the risk to employers and provide essential training and ongoing coaching support to encourage employers to hire skilled newcomers.

How does the hiring bond work?

If a skilled newcomer is hired and terminated or leaves the job within the first six months of employment, employers can claim the hiring bond and receive compensation for 50% of onboarding costs, including paid wages and training, up to a maximum of $10,000. Conditions apply.

What obligations do employers have?

Employers will be required to sign a participation agreement and will be asked to complete two surveys. The survey data is being collected by Social Research and Demonstration Corporation (SRDC) to evaluate this pilot project.
