If you have always wanted to plan an event for the community, you’ll love this summer work opportunity.

Newcomer youth 15-24 years old are eligible to participate in a summer of learning, making new friends and challenging your creativity to the fullest. The program includes 10 days in-class event planning training by Volunteer MBC, followed by the planning, execution and management of an event for the community.  Your volunteer hours will depend on how many hours you put into the project, but the average summer hours gained by our volunteers are approximately 25 hours a week over 8 weeks. 

Eligibility
  • Newcomer youth in Canada for less than 5 years will be prioritized for this project
  • Must be able to commit to 10 days in-class training for 3 hours each day
  • Must be able to commit at least 10 hours a week event planning over the summer
  • 24 youth will be accepted in this summer program
