This program delivered in partnership with Humber Polytechnic equips youth participants to complete Level 1 in-class apprenticeship training, register as apprentices, and secure entry-level positions as General Machinists and Millwrights within one to three months of completing their training.

Highlights:

  1. 10-week in-person General Machinist and Millwright training plus 2 weeks Jobs Search and Employability Skills either virtual or in person
  2. Located at Humber Polytechnic’s Centre for Skilled Trades and Technology (Etobicoke)
  3. In-class training 24 hours per week, may include weekends or evenings
  4. Prepares racialized youth for apprenticeships and careers in the skilled trades
  5. Participants also receive job search support, including resume building, interview preparation and career coaching 
  6. Includes Working at Heights and First Aid/CPR training
Eligibility
  • Youth ages 18 to 29 years old, from underserved groups and who are not in employment, education, or training
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Pre-registration interview required
