Women Facing Literacy Barriers: Online Series

Join this 10-week online women’s empowerment program for adults facing literacy barriers on January 15 – March 21, 2024 from 9:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.  

The Women’s First Program is for adults facing literacy barriers and will focus on building workplace skills for success to create actionable strategies for entering the workforce and/or purposeful transitions. There will be 1-hour weekly session/appointment with a Social Worker.

In the program, you will participate in workshops and activities to:

  • Gain the essential skills necessary to thrive in various aspects of learning, the workplace, and life in general
  • Identify your strengths and boost your confidence
  • Acquire valuable skills to explore future goals

Eligibility:

  • Immigration status holding (CR, PR or CUAET)
  • 19 years or older living in Ontario
  • Valid SIN number
  • Grade 12 or less
  • Good English listening and speaking skills
  • Committed to attending online classes; you will receive a device (chrome book) to keep upon competing the series

Childcare funds are available for eligible participants throughout the sessions. Successful participants will receive a CERTIFICATE.
