As a DEI practitioner and consultant, Cara Wallace has spent the past 20 years creating impact in non-profit leadership roles. She does this by promoting DEI values to build communities with diverse staff teams, partners, and stakeholders. As a DEI Coach at Achēv, Cara provides a range of DEI services, including training and coaching.

Cara immigrated to Canada from England and has also resided in Japan. There, she spent time as an educator delivering workshops, seminars, and training on cross-cultural communication. She completed her undergraduate degree in Sociology, with a focus on race, racism, and cultural studies. Cara holds a Master’s in Education with a specialization in workplace learning and social change. She is certified in Human Resources Management, Adult Education, Myers Briggs, and Conflict Resolution.

As the lead consultant with the Youth Justice Network of Toronto (YJNT), Cara partners with government agencies, organizations, academic institutions, businesses, and community-based agencies to diversify their business practices by building their capacity to deliver service to racialized and equity-deserving groups.

Cara is inspired by the pursuit and practice of diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace. She sees this as a means of cultivating belonging and a sense of community in a post-pandemic world.
